The mission of the Kristin S. Conrad Lace Center Foundation states its educational goals in conjunction with
the museum. These goals include a range of instructional, programmatic, and emerging needs, including classes,
lectures and demonstrations on lacemaking for adults and children.
The Center has two classrooms dedicated to the instruction of lacemaking:
- Adult classes for new lace makers. The one-on-one classes are taught by local teachers at the center.
Beginning classes are given in two-hour sessions for ten weeks. below for upcoming classes.
- Adult Continuing Education classes. These group lessons are taught by outside teachers with the participants
members of the local Sir Walter Lacers Guild.
- Young student classes will begin in the Spring of 2025. There will be six weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each
allowing the young lacemakers to finish a piece made with bobbins. The center will provide all materials.

SPRING 2025 BEGINNING CLASS
The Spring 2025 class is set. Beginning students receive all the materials needed to make lace, such as a lace pillow,
bobbins, threads and pins. A $50 deposit is required. This is refunded when the pillow and bobbins are returned to the
museum at the end of the beginner class.
Lessons are held weekly on Tuesdays from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The ten lessons cost $200.00, and the amount is payable
in advance. The cost includes the printed syllabus. There are no make-up lessons for missing a lesson on set dates.
The dates for this coming spring 2025 are as follows:
January 28
February 4, 11, 18, 25
March 4, 11, 18, 25 and
April 1.
