The Foundation logo is part of a master piece that Kristin created in 2017. The floral Bucks lace was designed by Holly VanSciver who shared “I will be forever grateful for Kristin’s beautiful execution of my design. She gave it life that will go on forever, not only in her interpretation of the design, but the magnificent frame she imagined for it. Kristin was remarkable in her determination to finish her lace pieces and then go the extra step to present them in a way that delivered her work as decorative masterpieces.” (IOLI Bulletin, Volume 42-1, Fall 2021) The piece was described in detail in the International Organization of Lace (IOLI) Bulletin 38-4 and Holly has since named the design for Kristin. To create the logo, the top left corner of a high-resolution photograph of her master piece was taken. This triangular section was then reworked on a different color background (we fondly call it Kristin’s blue). The long side was made into an arc to represent the “C” of Kristin’s last name. This is the logo you are familiar with from this website and printed materials you receive from the Kristin S. Conrad Lace Center Foundation. The top right picture shows a detail of the original work, representing the corner section of the logo, accentuating the individual threads and knots. |
